JellyBot Sudoku: Privacy details

Last updated: 19 October 2026 · Provider: JellyBot LLC

Official location: https://jellybot.tech/privacy-policy/sudoku. This page is Part B of the JellyBot LLC Privacy Policy, which also applies. See also the Terms and Conditions.

App: JellyBot Sudoku, our Sudoku app (Android package tech.jellybot.puzzles.sudoku. iOS details will be added when an iOS version launches.)
Developer: JellyBot LLC · support@jellybot.tech
Audience: everyone, including children (mixed audience under the Google Play Families Policy)
Language of this page: English

1. The short version

  • The app works offline. Your games, progress, coins, settings and avatar are stored on your device only. Game progress is stored locally. Where integrated, third-party SDKs may process technical data directly from your device, as described in app-specific disclosures. There are no accounts, no sign-in and no cloud sync.
  • On first launch the app asks for your year of birth (not your full date of birth) and assumes the youngest age that year allows. The answer stays on your device. It is used to apply the right rules for your age and region.
  • Users identified as children under the applicable age requirements, and users whose age is unknown, are placed in Kids mode. Kids mode has no ads at all, no analytics, no sign-in, no public names and no online features. The ads software never starts.
  • Teens (at or above the age of consent, under 18): ads are non-personalised, marked as under the age of consent and limited to general-audience (G) content. No analytics and no tracking.
  • Adults (18+): ads are non-personalised unless you turn personalised ads on. There is no sign-in.
  • There are no ads in your first session and none while you solve a puzzle.

2. The age question

  • The question is neutral: no default year, no "are you 13?" wording and no hint about what an age unlocks.
  • Skipping onboarding never skips it. Until it is answered, the app stays in Kids mode.
  • Once answered, it cannot be re-answered. Only a parent, behind a grown-up check, can change the year in Settings.
  • Region comes from your phone's region and language settings, never from your IP address.

3. Information stored on your device only

Settings → Privacy & data has Download my data (an export file) and Delete all my data. Below the adult age band, a grown-up check is needed to delete data or change the year of birth. Uninstalling the app also deletes everything.

4. Third parties (teens and adults only, never in Kids mode)

  • Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK, a Google Play Families Self-Certified Ads SDK). It is used only at or above the age of consent, after the age question and, where required, the consent form. It is never used in Kids mode or the first session. AdMob may process the advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and ad interactions to show, measure and protect ads. Requests are non-personalised unless an adult opts in. Teen requests are marked as under the age of consent. All requests are limited to G-rated content. If the app were ever switched from an adult to Kids mode during a session, ads stop and any further requests would be marked child-directed. Google's information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) asks for advertising consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland (and other regions where Google requires it) before any ad is requested. You can reopen it at any time in Settings → Ads & privacy.
  • Google Play distributes the app and its updates under Google's own terms and privacy policy.
  • Sign-in: none. The app has no sign-in today (no Google Play Games, Google or Apple sign-in). Sign-in features may be added later; we will update this policy first.
  • Sentry (crash reporting and analytics): adults only, and only if you turn on "Anonymous analytics" in the app. It is off until you turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time. Sentry receives crash reports (the error type and message, the app's stack trace and basic operating-system and app details) and a short list of game events made of codes and rounded numbers only: app start, session start, puzzles solved (mode, difficulty, size, mistakes, hints, whether it was the Daily puzzle, time taken), Daily completions (difficulty, streak), ads shown (ad type), purchase results (product code and result, if purchases are offered), rating prompts (what triggered them) and puzzle-generation fallbacks (mode, size). No name, email, year of birth, advertising ID, install or user ID, screenshots, puzzle contents or free text is sent. Nothing is sent from teens, from Kids mode, when the age is unknown, or when the app runs embedded inside another app. While you are offline, up to 50 events wait on your device. They are deleted when you turn analytics off, when Kids mode is turned on, or when you use Delete all my data. Sentry processes this data on our behalf as our service provider.
  • Rating prompt: the app may show the store's own rating prompt (Google Play In-App Review or Apple StoreKit). It is shown to adults only and never in Kids mode, and the store decides whether it appears.
  • Purchases: none today. If an option such as removing ads is offered later, it will go through Google Play or the Apple App Store and it will not be offered in Kids mode. We do not receive your full payment card details from app stores.

Daily reminders are scheduled on your device, with no push server. Head-to-head and tournament modes use simulated opponents and share codes you send yourself. We do not operate servers that receive your game progress, puzzle answers or in-app preferences. Where enabled, third-party SDK providers may process technical information directly from your device, as described in this policy.

5. Children and parents

Kids mode collects no personal information and makes no network requests for ads, analytics or sign-in. There is no chat and no public profile. Parents can manage locally stored data using available app controls. We cannot remotely access or export data stored only on the device. You can also email support@jellybot.tech. See also section 6 of the shared policy.

6. Your rights and retention

Access, export, correction and deletion are built into the app (Settings → Privacy & data). Personalised ads can be switched off at any time in Settings → Ads & privacy. Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Google keeps ad data under its own policies (linked above). Game progress is stored locally. Where integrated, third-party SDKs may process technical data directly from your device, as described in app-specific disclosures. If you email us, we keep and delete that email as described in Retention in the shared policy. For anything else, see Your rights in the shared policy or email support@jellybot.tech.
