JellyBot LLC ("we", "us") builds mobile and web apps for learning, games, productivity, travel and lifestyle. This Privacy Policy explains what information our apps, games and website ("Services") collect (very little), why, which third parties are involved and the choices you have.

The short version: Our apps have no accounts of ours and no cloud sync. Little Grid Sudoku on Android lets adults use Google Play Games and optional Google Play purchases (see its privacy details). Game progress and app preferences are stored locally on your device. Depending on the app, third-party SDKs may process technical and advertising-related information directly from your device, as described in the app-specific privacy details. The only personal information we receive directly is an email you choose to send us. In addition, adults who turn on usage analytics in an app that offers it send coded game events to Google Analytics for Firebase, and, where that app's section says so, crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) and performance data (Firebase Performance Monitoring) on the same switch, as described in that app's section. The third parties involved are Google AdMob and Google's consent tool (UMP) in ad-supported apps, Google Play and the Apple App Store, which distribute our apps, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring in apps whose app-specific section says so (adults who opt in only), and Google Analytics on this website.

This policy has two parts:

  • Part A applies to all of our Services.
  • Part B gives app-specific details. Where an app-specific page is more specific or more protective, it applies to that app.

Services covered

This Privacy Policy applies to jellybot.tech and to every app published by JellyBot LLC that links to it. Where an app works differently, its section in Part B below says so.

Part A: All JellyBot LLC Services

1. Who we are

JellyBot LLC is the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

2. Information we collect

Each app collects only what its app-specific section lists. Across our Services the possible categories are:

  • Emails you send us. This is the only personal information we receive directly. A year of birth you enter in an app stays on your device.
  • Information stored only on your device, such as game progress, settings and preferences. Game progress is stored locally. Where integrated, third-party SDKs may process technical data directly from your device, as described in app-specific disclosures.
  • Information processed by third parties directly from your device, for example an advertising partner that processes device identifiers, IP address and ad interactions to show and measure ads. Each partner is named in the app-specific section.
  • Website information: see section 12.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for targeted (personalised) advertising except for adults who choose to turn it on. We do not share app data ourselves.

3. How we use information

  • To run the apps on your device and remember your choices there.
  • To show ads in ad-supported apps, only where the rules for your age allow it.
  • To answer emails you send us and to meet legal obligations.

4. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

  • Providing the app or site you asked for: performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
  • Personalised ads (adults who opt in) and website analytics (Google Analytics, only after you click "Accept All" in the cookie notice): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time in the app, or on the website under "Cookie settings" in the footer.
  • App usage analytics, crash reports and performance data through Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring (adults who turn on analytics in an app that offers it): your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time in the app.
  • Answering your emails: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Advertising-related processing is subject to consent where required by applicable law, including for certain non-personalised advertising operations.
  • Meeting legal obligations: Art. 6(1)(c).

5. Sharing

Game progress is stored locally. Where integrated, third-party SDKs may process technical data directly from your device, as described in app-specific disclosures. The third parties that process data directly from your device are named in each app-specific section. Google provides Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Performance Monitoring to us as services for the apps that use them. These third parties act under their own terms (linked there). Our website is hosted on GitHub Pages and uses Google Analytics (see section 12). We disclose emails you send us only when the law requires it, or to a successor if JellyBot LLC is merged or sold, in which case this policy continues to apply to them.

Third-party links and services. Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services before providing your information.

6. Children

Each app-specific section states who the app is for. Our current apps, Little Grid Sudoku and Jellybot Arrows, are for ages 13 and up. They are not directed at children and are not part of the Google Play Families program. They work as follows:

  • It asks a neutral age question (year of birth), with no pre-filled answer and no hint about what an age unlocks. The answer stays on the device.
  • A player whose year of birth shows they may be under 13 sees only a "for ages 13 and up" screen: no ads, no analytics and nothing sent to us or to our partners.
  • Teens below their region's digital age of consent get no ads and no analytics. Older teens get non-personalised ads only and no analytics.
  • Parents and guardians can correct the year of birth or delete locally stored data, behind a grown-up check. We cannot remotely access data stored only on the device. You can also contact us at support@jellybot.tech.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 (or the local age of consent) without verifiable parental consent. If we learn that we have received a child's personal information, we will delete it. This approach is intended to comply with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), GDPR Article 8 and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your information; to object to or restrict processing; to withdraw consent; and to complain to a data protection authority.

  • EEA / UK (GDPR, UK GDPR): the rights above, plus the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA) and other US states: the right to know, delete and correct; the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising (we do not sell personal information, and personalised ads are off unless an adult turns them on); and the right not to be treated differently for using these rights.

Many apps let you use these rights directly in their settings (see the app-specific sections). Otherwise, email support@jellybot.tech, including to ask us to delete emails you have sent us (see Retention). We may need to verify your request.

8. Retention

Information on your device stays there until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. We retain email correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and maintain our business records. Emails are stored in our email provider's systems, which may retain them according to their own retention policies. You may request deletion of your email data at any time by contacting us. To ask us to delete your emails, write to support@jellybot.tech. Partners keep data under their own policies, linked in the app-specific sections.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures. Connections between your device and third parties such as Google are encrypted in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. International transfers

Our partners (for example Google) may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

11. Changes to this policy

We will publish changes at https://jellybot.tech/privacy-policy and update the "Last updated" date. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app before it applies, and ask for consent again where the law requires it.

12. The jellybot.tech website

Our website uses Google Analytics (measurement ID G-2NBEJGFN0W). It collects the pages you visit, device and browser information, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and cookies or similar identifiers. We use it to understand how the site is used. Google Analytics is loaded only after you click "Accept All" in the cookie notice. Until you choose, and if you click "Reject All", Google Analytics is never loaded. No Google Analytics requests are initiated before analytics consent. Your choice is saved in a cookie on your device for one year. You can change it at any time with the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, or by clearing this site's cookies in your browser. If you withdraw consent, the page reloads without Google Analytics and we delete its cookies (_ga) from this site. Google's information: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
